Nannies Sign Employment Contracts

Nanny employers consistently ask the question, why did our nanny leave to work for another family? In many cases, it is because failed communication between the employer, the parent, and the employee, the nanny. To give parents and nannies a tangible tool to use in designing a clearer understanding of each other's expectations, the International Nanny Association now publishes a generic Nanny and Family Agreement. Included is an addendum of other employment issues to personalize your agreement.

This handy tool was developed by industry leaders to help nannies, families, and nanny agencies negotiate and solidify work arrangements. The document covers a wide range of topics including salary, benefits, insurance, tax considerations, as well as family and nanny expectations, household information, health and emergency, meals, vacation and so much more.

"Before you enter into this very important relationship, use this document to make sure you have covered all of your bases", says Becky Kavanagh, Former President of the International Nanny Association. She explains that a good work agreement can sincerely help build a foundation for a solid and clear relationship.

The International Nanny Association is a non-profit educational organization for nannies and those who educate, place, employ and support professional in-home child care providers.
